LED Projector Lens
LED projectors operate at lower temperatures than lamp-based projectors. This makes them more reliable, simpler to cool and quieter than HID-based models.
Bi-LED lens projector is a trending lighting upgrade part used by many vehicle owners to enhance their halogen or xenon stock front lights. It has one primary job-to produce enough light that conforms to road safety rules.
1. Fresnel lens
A Fresnel lens is a series of refracting and reflecting prisms that are cut into a curved surface shape. This type of lens was developed in 1822 by Augustin Fresnel and is named after him. It was used in lighthouses and is considered “the invention that saved a million ships.” It has also been used in cameras and flashes throughout the history of photography.
The curved surface of a fresnel lens allows for wider entry points for light. This means that it is a good choice for a projector. The lens can be found in various shapes and sizes, depending on the application it is being used for.
In addition to lighthouses, Fresnel lenses are commonly found in overhead projectors and projection TVs. They are typically stamped or molded of transparent led projector lens plastic and consist of one collimator and one collector lens, each with different focal lengths. This helps to reduce image distortion and provides better focus than the flat mirrors or lenses used in earlier projectors. They are also useful in concentrating sunlight for heating or solar energy applications.
2. Plastic optical lens
The projector lens is a key component of an LED light. It is designed to collect the light from multiple LEDs into a focused point, and it helps to improve image quality and performance. It also reduces the amount of wasted light that is lost in the lens. The optics are made from glass or plastic and may be aspheric to help with collimation.
The most popular type of plastic optical lenses is acrylic polymer, which has good mechanical stability and clarity. It is also resistant to UV, but it tends to absorb a little in the deep blue spectrum. RY-LP3005 and RY-LP3015 are two popular choices. However, some people still prefer the older glass variants, which offer shatter resistance and better anti-scratch properties.
Optical collimators for LEDs are usually a simple, 2 lens transmissive design. This allows for the LED to be located close to the lens without melting or softening. The second lens element of the collimator is often a glass or plastic aspheric to help with high angle ray error correction.
3. Reflector bowl
Unlike halogen bulbs, projectors have the advantage of a lens that helps to focus the light into a tight beam pattern, which can help with distance projection. This means that the light will be more intense and focused and there is less light ‘waste’.
This is why projector headlights are able to get farther down the road than reflectors, especially with LED based bulbs. With this technology, you are able to see the road with more brightness and clarity, which can be very helpful on busy roads at night.
Another advantage of this system is that it does not require a ballast, which is good for anyone who wants to retrofit their vehicle with brighter lighting. There are led projector lens also no big relay harnesses to worry about and this is great for those who want a clean install that is easy to maintain. However, it is important to note that when upgrading your headlights to LEDs, you need to upgrade the entire reflector bowl, too. Failure to do so can blind other drivers, which is a serious safety hazard.
4. High wattage
Unlike HID-based projectors, LED projector lenses don’t need big ballasts or relay harnesses to run. Instead, they rely on an external LED driver to regulate power. This setup is easier to mount and simpler to wire. Plus, it’s not as hot as traditional HID projector bulbs.
This means that you don’t need to wait for the projector to warm up or cool down. This saves you time and energy and keeps your work running smoothly. It also eliminates the risk of fire due to faulty bulbs.
With a built-in LED chip, ROYALIN dual-core bi-led projector lens provides brighter lighting in both low and high beams. It is more than 33W for high beams and 23W for low beams, resulting in a maximum output of 2530 lumens per bulb.
Besides that, the reflector bowl in ROYALIN LED headlight is made from aluminum alloy and has an excellent cooling system to dissipate heat. It is more durable than plastic and is resistant to oxidation. It will last longer than conventional projector bulbs and can be used for an estimated 30,000 hours without needing replacements.
5. Dual-core
The dual-core used in led projector lenses has an improved lumen that’s better than the older version. This means it can produce a higher amount of light without increasing the size of the headlight. This makes it much easier to install on vehicles. It also eliminates the need for a relay harness and separate bulbs.
These headlights are also a great option for drivers looking to go all-LED. They don’t require big ballasts or a relay harness, and they can run on standard H11 headlight bulbs. In addition, they have a clear lens and CREE XHP35 chipset that creates a well-controlled beam pattern.
They’re available in a wide range of sizes to fit nearly any car, and they come with thread brackets that fit on most standard headlight sockets. They also have a built-in cooling system that keeps the LED chips cool. This allows them to last longer than conventional lamps, and they won’t burn out as quickly. In addition, they require fewer maintenance visits. The LEDs have a 10-times longer lifespan than conventional bulbs, and they don’t need long warm-up and cool-down times.
