Waterproof Splice Connectors
Suitable for underground pet fence wire, sprinkler valve splices and other weather sensitive wiring. Just squeeze and lock to hydraulically pump and pack waterproofing silicone around your splice. The double O-ring seal bars water from entering the splice.
These waterproof splice connectors are crimped to close and insulate electrical connections, resisting corrosion and delivering acceptable conductivity performance levels. Choose from top-rated products by Blazing, King Innovation, Rain Bird and Paige Electric.
Rain Bird Wire Connectors
Rain Bird DB Series wire connectors allow installers to make a secure, moisture-proof connection quickly for irrigation controller or valve electrical connections. They eliminate the time-consuming process of stripping and pre-twisting the wires and provide reliable moisture sealing for connections that will last in the field. The crimp sleeve is designed to seal with minimal force and is easily removed to expose the splice. The Dri-Splice Seal designed into each of the three wire holes enables one connector to be used for a wide range of wire sizes, making this an economical choice for stocking your business with the best waterproof splice connectors.
Low voltage (24v) underground irrigation control cables require waterproof splice connectors that will not leak or break due to the moisture in soil. These small waterproof splice connectors from Blazing Products, King Innovation or Paige Electric are ideal for connecting the central control system to controller-to-solenoid valve cables or other low voltage underground irrigation installations.
Larger wire connectors for sprinkler systems are also available from Rain Bird and LV 9000. These connectors have double O-ring seals that hydraulically pump and pack a thick, waterproof silicone into the splice, encapsulating all entryways to protect against moisture, rust and corrosion. The pre-filled silicone splice connector is easy to install and has a snap-fit lid that prevents strain on the splice.
SnapLoc Wire Connectors
Electrical connections need to be able to withstand the elements. Whether they’re exposed to heavy rain or high temperatures, a weak connection can result in damage and downtime. That’s why waterproof connectors are designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions, preventing water ingress and ensuring uninterrupted performance.
Compared to traditional crimp wire connectors, waterproof ones offer multiple benefits. In waterproof splice connectors addition to being easy to use, they also create a stronger and more reliable electrical connection. This is because they have more surface area than a crimp connector, allowing them to absorb more of the electrical current and reduce resistance. Additionally, they have sealant gel that keeps water from entering the connections.
These features make them ideal for a wide range of applications, including marine, automotive, industrial, and outdoor settings. They’re especially ideal for equipment that needs to be protected from the elements, such as boats and vehicles or lighting systems in outdoor spaces.
To install a waterproof connector, first, you need to strip the insulation from both ends of the wire using a wire stripper. Then, insert the wires into the connector’s holes; #12-#14 in large holes and #16-#20 in small holes. Once the wiring is in place, squeezing and locking the handles will hydraulically pump and pack the pre-filled silicone inside, closing all entryways against moisture and corrosion. The double O-ring seal bars water from creeping in, while latches lock the connector around the splice.
LV 9000 Wire Connectors
LV 9000 wire connectors make electrical connections and seal them waterproof, saving professionals time when installing irrigation or landscape lighting. These premium components use tinned waterproof connector manufacturer copper barrels with dual wall heat shrink tubing that contains adhesive inside. When installers make a strong crimp, the tubing shrinks and the adhesive flows, creating an airtight seal to protect the splice from moisture, corrosion and other environmental factors that can cause electrical problems.
Insulated and water-tight, these wire connectors have a built-in solder preform and adhesive that is uniformly distributed throughout the sleeve, helping maintain consistent connection quality across multiple splices. They are also designed to protect against extreme temperatures, chemical and salt water, and other harsh environments where electrical connections may be exposed to moisture or other corrosive elements.
When used with a hot gun, the solder preform and adhesive melts and flows through the sleeve to create a solid bond between the wires, which helps prevent intermittent or loose connections. Once the splice is made, installers can slide back the patented lock ring to double-lock the connector and ensure it stays secure in the ground.
These waterproof splice connectors are ideal for residential irrigation valve splices, repairs to trailers or other weather sensitive wiring, and any small wire splice. They are also available in silicone filled versions to resist corrosion for long-lasting reliability in the field.
Gardner Bender Xtreme Series Terminals
The Gardner Bender GB Xtreme Series Terminals are made with heat-shrink insulation with an adhesive lining that waterproofs and environmentally seals splice connections when crimped and heated. They insulate and protect connections from wire pull out, moisture intrusion and abrasion, and resist salt water, oil, gasoline and other environmental contaminants once sealed. GB Xtreme ring terminals are built to work as hard as you do and provide the ultimate protection against strain, vibration, corrosion, and fatigue. They crimp easily without splitting, and the adhesive lining helps guard against moisture intrusion to ensure your electrical connections last as long as you do. 3 per pack. UL and CSA listed. Designed for automotive, marine and general electrical projects. Rated 600 volts maximum. UL and CSA approved for safety.
