HDMI Active Optical Cable (AOC)
HDMI is the standard for high definition audio and video communication. AOC HDMI cables use the same connectors and digital formatting as traditional copper HDMI cables, but they employ optical technology for superior signal transmission over long distances.
These cables also provide lower susceptibility to electromagnetic interference (EMI/RFI). They’re much thinner than copper solutions and feature a superior bend radius, making them ideal for routing through tight spaces such as a video wall.
Features
Unlike copper HDMI cables, this active optical fiber cable has hdmi-active-optical-cable-aoc no signal attenuation and can easily carry high-bandwidth data signals over long distances. This cable has a smaller diameter than copper and is more flexible making it easier to work with in tight spaces. It is also plenum rated which makes it ideal for use in indoor applications such as dropped ceilings.
The active optical technology used in these cables provides a low-EMI profile that is ideal for professional environments where image quality and reliability are paramount. They draw power from the HDMI source device so no external power is required. This eliminates a potential point of failure as well as reduces the risk of EMI/RFI interference in crowded environments such as data centers or surgical theaters.
These cables are directional with SOURCE and DISPLAY port connectors on each end. The SOURCE end should be connected to the Blu-ray player, computer or other devices and the DISPLAY end should be attached to the HDTV, monitor or video projector. This will ensure that the proper signal flows between the HDMI equipment.
This active HDMI fiber optic cable is simple to install with no need for any additional hardware or software. Unlike over CAT5 extender kits, these all-in-one cables simply need to be plugged in and will work right out of the box.
Benefits
This HDMI Active Optical Cable combines copper wire and optical fiber to extend an HDMI signal up to 330 feet without the need for transmitters or receiver extender kits. It is a much thinner cable than copper and can run through conduit, walls, ceilings, and other tight spaces. This plenum rated cable is ideal for Pro AV installations where high bandwidth video needs to be extended over long distances.
It has a built-in amplifier that supports all the latest HDCP protocols and high data transfer rates up to 18Gbps, including 4K resolution, x.v color, Dolby TrueHD, and ARC (audio return channel). The optical fiber portion of the cable is much more flexible than traditional copper cable making it easier to work with in tight spaces and around obstacles. This HDMI AOC cable also transmits optical signals which are much less susceptible to electromagnetic interference than traditional copper cables making it ideal for use in RF polluted environments.
This AOC cable is unidirectional, so be sure to connect the end labeled Source to your HDMI signal source and the end labeled Display to your TV or monitor. For best results, always turn on the device with the highest data rate first (usually the source). The cable is easy to install and can be used in a wide variety of HDMI applications.
Installation
Unlike traditional copper HDMI cables, optical fibers in AOCs don’t have signal degradation over long distances. They can also be routed in tight spaces more easily than copper cables because they’re thinner and more flexible. They’re mpo-trunk-harness-cables ideal for AV applications that require multiple HDMI sources and displays, like video walls.
Using the latest in HDMI technology, this cable delivers a full 18Gbps bandwidth over lengths of up to 100 meters with no data loss. It also supports 4K resolutions and High Dynamic Range (HDR) for vivid colors and stunning detail. It’s designed for commercial installations that need high-speed HDMI features and is shielded from EMI interference.
This plenum-rated HDMI cable is made of both copper and optical fiber to deliver high-speed connections over extended distances. It can be used in a variety of AV environments including classrooms, meeting spaces, and corporate offices. Its kevlar-protected fiber and aluminium foil provide protection from electromagnetic interference and make it suitable for sensitive applications. The cable is also equipped with a pull tab and a CL2 in-wall or low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) jacket for easy installation in wall and ceilings.
Its directional design makes it easy to determine the proper orientation of the HDMI connectors on each end. It is recommended to test the cable for proper connection and compatibility before installing it permanently in a wall or ceiling.
Warranty
AOC HDMI cables provide high-speed connectivity solutions that transmit audio and video data from set top box, Blu-ray player and video game console to a large display like Home Theater Projector and HDTV. They are ideal for long distance applications. These cables are plenum rated and feature detachable heads on both ends which allow the cable to be pulled through smaller diameter conduit easily. They also have low susceptibility to EMI/RFI which makes them ideal for use in sensitive environments.
They have built in signal booster chipset that allows them to maintain a full HDMI 2.0 bandwidth at longer lengths without any signal loss. This enables you to take advantage of the stunning image quality that is offered by 4K Ultra HD resolution and High Dynamic Range (HDR). These cables are compatible with HDMI repeaters, switches and other devices.
This plenum rated active optical hdmi cable comes with a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. It is also backed by SCP’s exclusive Snug-Tite® Pulling Capsule which keeps both connector heads securely attached to their respective devices for maximum signal integrity. These cables are the ideal solution for long run AV installations in commercial and professional environments. The fiber strand construction of these cables reduces the risk of EMI/RFI interference making them the perfect solution for use in sensitive environments. They also support immersive audio for a more enjoyable experience in AV applications.
