Waterproof Splice Connectors

Waterproof splice connectors seal splice connections from moisture and contaminants when crimped or soldered. They are commonly used in landscape lighting, irrigation and some outdoor equipment applications.

Sealing

Termination

Some splice connectors feature a hands-free shutter mechanism that automatically applies the dust cap for you, eliminating the need to manually apply them every time. Installation

Waterproof splice connectors are often used to repair broken wires, and they also work well as waterproof connector manufacturer a first electrical connection between two opposing bare wire ends. Whether you need to connect an irrigation valve, repair a trailer or other weather sensitive wiring, a butt splice connector is a simple and effective solution. The insulation on the butt splice connector is heat-resistant and provides a moisture-resistant seal when crimped and heated. Most butt splice connectors can be quickly installed with a pair of ordinary pliers and are color coded to make it easy to match the appropriate gauge of wire.

If you need to install a butt splice connector, first turn off any electricity at the source. Then, carefully remove any strands that stick out of the end of the wire and twist the butt splice connector onto the wires pushing firmly until hand-tight. The waterproof silicone in the splice connector will seal the splice and protect it from water intrusion, corrosion and environmental contaminants. You can even use a tube of dielectric grease to add an extra layer of protection for the splice. Maintenance

If you’re working on a sensor installation that will be regularly submerged in water, you’ll want to keep the sensor wires protected from moisture. Adding waterproof connectors to these connections is an effective way to do so. Waterproof connectors are available in a variety of forms, each with its own unique advantages.

The most simple form is a splice terminal with two crimps that join a pair of stripped ends together. This splice terminal can be used to change or lengthen conductors within a circuit and is commonly found on irrigation, sprinkler, and other outdoor sensors. Crimp butt splice terminals are easy to use and feature a solder sleeve that closes over the crimps, preventing the splice from becoming exposed to the elements.
