3D Geomat is a kind of erosion control mat made of high molecular synthetic material. Its texture is loose and flexible and its voids can be filled with over 90% soil and sand.

It can protect the embankment from erosion by wind and rain before the turf is generated, it can keep seed distribution evenly on slope, defend wind, rain and scattered loss.

Erosion Control

Three dimensional vegetation geonet slope protection technology reinforces the slope by plant growth. This method is used to protect soil damage or pollution caused by erosion, such as landslide and run off. It also prevents the bare soil from being washed away and encourages vegetation to grow luxuriantly at the slope surface.

Unlike PE and PP mat, our 3D geomat doesn’t float in water, making it easy to handle and install both in dry and wet conditions. The geotextile fabric thermally bonded to the geomat ensures filtration, separation and protects the core from being washed out by heavy water. The mat is also odorless, non-abrasive and doesn’t attract rodents or bacteria.

The pockets of the mat can be filled with a loam type soil and seed. The 3D mat then firmly combines with the grass roots to form a composite protective layer at the slope. This enables the green vegetation to effectively resist erosion from storm run off and wind erosion.

The stereoscopic structure of our 3D geomat improves the permeability and water infiltration of the slope soil, which significantly reduces the impact force of precipitation. It also increases the shear strength of the soil, reduces pore Green 3D Geomat water pressure and soil gravity, and improves stability and anti-erosion ability. This system is widely used to replace the traditional shotcrete slope protection engineering method.

It is a stable tri-dimension net structure produced by multi-layer plastice geonets weding together. The void space of the product can be filled with soil or sand to a depth of 30-40cm, while plants’ roots are free to go through at 90% of the surface area.

After planting, 3D mesh geomat can firmly keep the turf on the slope surface, and defend against wind and rain. The black color of the product can absorb large amount of heat energy to enhance geothermal, and promote seed germination, extend the growth period of plants. The compound protection layer formed by the plants grown together can withstand high water level and washout of flow.

It can be used to replace those permanent sloping surface protective materials such as concrete, asphalt paving, pitch and block stone, greatly reducing construction cost and improving project efficiency. The thermal behavior of the geomats installed in each section (natural conditions) and on the sample of the geomats ultraviolet-aged in the laboratory (accelerated conditions), has been evaluated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The results show that there is no significant difference between the method using only the geomat and the method using only the sack gabion.

Hexagonal wire mesh reinforced 3D Geomat is used on slopes, embankment and river channel for preventing soil slipping. It is sewn to a biodegradable backing, with its open structure facing downwards and the biodegradable backing upwards when installing. It can be combined with geotextile fabric or geomembrane on one or two sides for embankment drainage or steep or rocky soil slopes.
